Evolt Proud to Support Mill Park Leisure’s First Spinathon for Local Kids
Twelve hours. Twelve themed classes. One community that refused to slow down. Mill Park Leisure's inaugural Spinathon blew past its fundraising target, and Evolt is proud to have sponsored a bike for the ride.

On Saturday, September 5, Mill Park Leisure hosted its very first Spinathon, a full-day fundraiser dedicated to helping underprivileged children access Learn to Swim lessons and build a skill that can save their lives.
Evolt was proud to come on board as a bike sponsor, one of the local businesses recognized throughout the day for helping fund Learn to Swim lessons for children who might otherwise miss out.
What happens when a community goes all in?
The original goal was $3,000, enough to give six children six months of swimming lessons. The community had bigger plans.
Thanks to the combined effort of staff, instructors, members, and sponsors, the Spinathon raised $4,300. That extra momentum means eight children will now receive six months of swimming lessons, building confidence, water safety skills, and a lifelong love of the water.
Twelve hours on the bike
The event ran from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Mill Park's spin instructors leading 12 straight hours of themed classes. Between sessions, participants and spectators enjoyed raffles and prizes throughout the day.
Light & Sound Team generously donated staging, lighting, and sound services, transforming the Mill Park foyer into a true showpiece. The result was an atmosphere that fired up everyone in the room, on the bikes and off.
Why this matters
Australia recorded 357 drowning deaths in 2024-25, 27% above the 10-year average and the highest number since records began, according to Royal Life Saving Australia's National Drowning Report 2025. The same report notes that half of all children leave primary school unable to swim 50 meters and float for two minutes.
Cost and access are among the biggest barriers, and drowning rates are higher in disadvantaged and regional communities. That's exactly why Mill Park Leisure built the Spinathon around one belief: every child deserves the chance to be safe and confident in and around water, regardless of their family's circumstances.
Events like this show what's possible when a fitness community rallies around a shared purpose, and they reflect a belief at the heart of everything Evolt does: healthier lives start in local communities.
"The day was a tremendous success, enjoyed by everyone who attended, and most importantly, it will make a real difference to the lives of local children," said Ryan Mifsud, Venue Manager at Mill Park Leisure.
Congratulations to Ryan and the entire Mill Park Leisure team on a tremendous first Spinathon. We can't wait to see how far the next one goes.
